North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) in Manhasset has been ranked as the top hospital in New York State and is a national Honor Roll Hospital.
NSUH has been ranked in the top 50 across the country in 9 of the 10 specialties it offers. The diabetes and endocrine disorders program placed 10th while the orthopedics program of the hospital placed seventh, NSUH is celebrating its 70th anniversary and is part of the Northwell Health hospital system.
News of such achievements is often made known throughout the community and the area with flyer printing.
This is the second year in a row in which NSUH has been ranked as the first. It treats over 90,000 patients a year and is home to the Katz Women’s Hospital and the Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital as well as offering multi-organ transplant and neurosurgery services. Its emergency department is one of the busiest in the region.
President and CEO of Northwell, Michael Downing, said that one of the goals of all the hospitals in its system is to provide an amazing patient experience. He added that this list from U.S. News highlights how dedicated the team is at each hospital to ensuring that this happens. Downing said that the goal is to improve the health of the communities which are served by the hospitals in lasting, proactive, and meaningful ways.
