What's Happening in Manhasset, NY…

In a motor vehicle accident, having a child securely strapped into an appropriate car seat can save their life, and a Manhasset area even will help area families to keep their youngest members safe.

Safe Kids Nassau County and the Cohen Medical Center are teaming up to host a car seat clinic that will assist parents and caregivers in making sure their child’s car seat is properly installed. Those who come to the function are asked to put their normal car seat in their vehicle as they normally do, as this will make sure that they are familiar with it upon arrival. They are also asked to bring the manuals for both the sat and their vehicle.

Technicians who are fully training in installing child safety seats will be on hand to guide the participants through the process of properly installing theirs. The instruction will be presented using hands on techniques so that the parents will be able to do it themselves afterwards. If possible, they should also bring the boy or girl who will be using the seat. Brochures and other materials that give further information about vehicle safety for children can be prepared to give out during an event like this.
