As the cold months come and people settle in for the Winter, Island Park Public Library is looking to give children something to do with their Winter Story and Craft event. The occasion provides two pronged entertainment and lots of warmth.
Families and children are encouraged to come in and circle around the library’s fireplace for the story time. Several popular winter-themed stories will be read out like in front of the fire. Possible entries include The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats, Snowballs by Lois Ehlert, Let it Snow by Holly Hobbie, Building an Igloo by Ulli Steltzer, and more. The exact reading list has not yet been finalized.
In addition to a story by the fire, visitors will also be led in a craft activity. All materials will be provided by the library along with some instructions on how to put the craft together. Some previous activities have made custom Holiday Cards, snowflakes, and snowmen. More details on the appropriate age range for the craft are available at the library.
The Winter Story and Craft event will take place on January 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Island Park Public Library, located at 176 Long Beach Rd. Admission is free, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Anyone looking for more information should contact the library directly or visit the website.Get a Free Quote for Holiday Cards
