Island Park prepares for spooky celebration

Some spinetingling excitement is on the way to Island Park this Halloween season, and Masone Beach will serve as the location for the spooky celebration.

The Halloween Beach Bash will open in the late morning on its scheduled date, and the roster of activities will be followed by a Trunk or Treat. Community members are encouraged to get involved.

The Bash will open at 11:00 am, and the plans include hayrides as well as a chance to meet some new feathery and furry friends in the petting zoo. Everyone can visit the pumpkin patch to choose one to take home, and they can give it a touch of style at the decorating station. Face painters will be on hand, and at 12:30 pm, it will be time for the kids to do some shelling out.

The Trunk or Treat is open to any vehicle owners who have an Island Park Library Card, and they will need to supply goodies for at least 200 little ghosts and goblins. Registrants can decorate their vehicles and may arrive as early as 11:30 am. Businesses often take part in seasonal events, and may choose to distribute stickers, wrapped candies, and other Promotional Products to the crowd.

Island Park will come together for its annual Halloween festival on Saturday, October 24. More details and a registration link for the Trunk or Treat can be found on the Island Park Library website.
