An evening has been planned near Island Park that will see Island Park residents put on their dancing shoes and reliving their glory days to the music of the ‘80s and ‘90s.
The Westbury Alumni Community Scholarship Committee will be playing host to this tribute to decades past. The proceeds from the occasion will be used to fund three $1,000 scholarships, along with a computer to area students who are working hard to meet their educational goals.
The guests are invited to come dressed in their best “throwback” garb, and there will be an assortment of vendors on site with displays set up. A cash bar service will be available for anyone who would like to purchase a drink, and there will also be draws for a variety of raffle prizes.
Tickets for the evening are $25 each, and donations, which are tax deductible, will be gratefully accepted. Any vendors who would like to participate are welcome, and the fee to do so has been set at $100 each. Banner printing for this type of function can be sourced from a printer in the local area.
This tribute to the not so distant past will be held in the Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island, which can be found at 38 Old Country Road in Garden City. Anyone who would like to join in the fun of the occasion can find more details on its event listing.
