Long Island will hold an awards ceremony in June to celebrate teaching excellence. Residents from across the island, including anyone living in Park Island, will nominate educators they believe deserve recognition.
The event is organized by RichnerLIVE, who brings community and business events to Long Island. The Bank of America is also sponsoring the event. Flyer printing is often used to help bring attention to these kinds of events.
The event is titled “Head of the Class” and will recognize teachers for the “passion, perseverance and dedication” they bring. This year is the first time for the awards, and educators working in K-12 classrooms will be honored for their efforts throughout the pandemic. There will be three categories of awards, including top elementary school teacher, top middle school teacher, and top high school teacher. Each category will feature 10 finalists and a winner.
An advisory committee of important stakeholders will overlook all nominations. Winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony in the evening. The Long Island Herald will also have an editorial section on all finalists and winners.
The award ceremony will take place on June 16 at 6:00 PM. The Long Island Herald editorial will be published on June 24. Anyone in need of more information can call 516 569-4000 x224 or email Amy Amato at aamato@richnerlive.com.
