Residents in the Island Park area thinking about purchasing their first piece of real estate should be looking forward to the First Time Home Buying Seminar. The event features expert advice on all topics surrounding this difficult process.
The discussion is being led by Anthony Genova, an expert and financial adviser in the area. Genova brings over a dozen years of experience in making first time home-buying presentations for a large financial institution. Anthony J. Santino, the supervisor of Hempstead, and Receiver of Taxes Don Clavin will also be present.
The seminar will cover the ins and outs of purchasing a home for the first time, including information about inspections, title insurance, mortgages, tax payments, contracts, and closings. Attendees will also hear tips about finding tax exemptions, how they can challenge home value assessments, and the services provided by local governments. Afterwards the floor will be open for questions so visitors can ask any specific details they might need. Informational Brochures with more detailed information about several of the topics covered will also be available after the seminar is over.
The First Time Home Buying Seminar will be held on June 26 starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Island Park Public Library, located at 176 Long Beach Rd. Attendance to this event is free to the public. Anyone looking for more information should contact the library directly.
