Island Park program to provide early introduction to ballet
An event will soon be coming to the Island Park area that will give moms and toddlers a chance to bond while enjoying ballet-based exercises.
In the Rolling River Baby Ballet class, participants will be given an introduction to the art of ballet that will also encourage them to move and be active. The youngsters will be taught a variety of steps and positions, including plies and toe-pointing, and according to the organizers, it will provide an introduction and foundation for further instruction in ballet. The goal is to help the children learn confidence in their abilities and a sense of their body and how it moves, all while having fun and making new friends.
Once the ballet portion of the class is complete, the toddlers will be able to enjoy spending some time in the Rolling River Tumbling Gym, where they can continue to enjoy physical activity with the other children. Local stationery printers will be able to supply specially designed award certificates that can be given to each boy or girl who completes a movement class like this.
The first class will be held on October 25, and it will run until December 6. The Rolling River Day Camp will serve as the venue for the classes, and the registration fee will be $128 for each child.
