Residents in Island Park looking to improve their skills with paint and brush need look no further than the library’s latest workshop.
Acrylic Painting with Frank Caprino offers a fun-oriented lesson for people of many different skill levels.
The workshop is led by Frank Caprino, a New York and New Jersey certified art educator. Possessing a degree in illustration and communications design from the Pratt Institute, Caprino has taught illustration, ceramics, graphic design, and more for high schools and charter schools in the area. He is known in Island Park for his Sip ‘n’ Paint activities.
Participants will be provided with paint, canvas, brushes, and anything else they might need to make a painting. Caprino will instruct visitors in how to make a landscape of a summer scene, providing an overall lesson and individual pointers for each painter. Light refreshments and beverages will be provided as part of the activity, and afterwards everyone will be able to take their finished work home with them.
The workshop will be held on June 17 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Island Park Public Library, located at 176 Long Beach Rd. Participation costs $12 a person and must be paid in cash at the time of registration. Only 20 spots are available, so registration is required.
