Lunar New Year will be celebrated on February 10th this year, and in honor of the occasion, an Island Park venue will be giving kids some hands-on fun.
The Island Park Public Library serves as a hub for the community, and one of its activities will provide an opportunity for kids from the ages of 7 to 10 to mark the arrival of the lunar New Year by preparing a themed craft. Interested parties have been asked to register their child ahead of time, as this will ensure there are enough materials for everyone in attendance.
Kids in the session will be preparing dragon masks, as the traditional Chinese calendar shows this will be the Year of the Dragon. Chris Vivas will be the facilitator, and the attendees will design and then create their masterpiece, adding any decorations they wish. The session will last for approximately one and half hours.
Libraries often offer crafting classes and other activities for people of all ages. A brochure printing company can prepare seasonal Calendars and other materials to hand out to the public that provide more details about upcoming events so they can include them in their plans.
The Island Park Public Library has set up this crafting class for Thursday, February 8. It will start at 4:00 pm, and more details can be found on its EventKeeper.com listing.
