Island Park asked to help with beach cleanup

Even Mother Nature can use a helping hand, and families that take part in an Island Park area environmental stewardship project will be showing her some TLC in late August.

The Jones Beach Energy and Nature Center will be giving its beach a good clean, and it is counting volunteers from the community to lend a hand. Those who are interested have been asked to register in advance so that they can have their parking fees waived, and all help will be most appreciated.

When they arrive for the clean-up, the participants will receive their assignment as well as all of the materials they need to get the job done. There will be staff on hand to direct the activity, and answer questions, and while kids under 16 are encouraged to attend, they will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The run time for the clean-up is two and a half hours.

Hosting a volunteer activity can be a way to introduce the public to the joys that may go hand in hand with environmental stewardship. Eco-friendly Promotional Products can be prepared by a printer to give to those who lend a hand with a project to thank them for their support.

This chance to show some love to Mother Nature and have fun doing so is planned for August 26th. It will be hitting the beach at 9:00 am at 150 Bay Parkway in Wantagh.
