Island Park area sets date for film screening

The Long Beach Historical Society has cordially invited one and all to attend an Island Park area event that will use visual media to explore the area and its history.

The organization has set the date for its Barrier Island Film Festival, where there will be eight pictures screened. Members and non-members alike are encouraged to reserve their spot, and tickets will be available for purchase up until the day of the showings.

The audience for the evening will take in two music videos as well as six short films, and only a limited number of seats is available. Passes for members are $25, while non-member admission is $30. One of the items being shown was filmed at the Society’s museum, and the proceeds from the event will be used by the museum to fund its activities and other projects.

A movie night may attract a lot of public attention, and choosing effective marketing materials is one way organizers can help to ensure their function is well attended. A poster printing company can prepare cinema-style Posters to spread the word throughout the local area.

The Barrier Island Film Festival will be hosted at the Long Beach Historical Society, which is located at 226 W Penn Street in Long Beach. Questions about the evening can be directed to 516-432-1192. The curtain will be going up at 7:00 pm on Saturday, March 8.
