Island Park’s amateur chefs have been issued a challenge. They have been invited to put their own special recipe to the test in a competition where their creation will go head to head with others to see who makes the best meatballs.
Creators of all kinds of Italian-style meatballs are welcome to enter the contest, which is organized by Long Beach’s Jetty Bar and Grill. The public is invited to come out and cheer them on, and prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers.
For $25, each competitor will receive a slot in the competition. The top-seated entry will receive the title of ‘Best in Show’ as well as a custom trophy with a unique Logo Design. They will also be awarded a $50 gift card, a $200 cash prize, and bragging rights for having the best meatball recipe in town. The second and third place winners will get a trophy, gift cards and other prizes.
The spectator tickets for this year’s contest are currently on offer for $15 each. The event is set to begin at 1:00 pm, and everyone is welcome to come out and add their cheers to the excitement of the day.
