Island Park adrenaline junkies may find that an upcoming celebration tempts them to nearby Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh.
Featuring an international lineup of performers, the annual Bethpage Air Show will bring the excitement to the area this May, and the headliners for the event will be the United State Navy’s Blue Angels. For the safety of all, access to the location will be restricted for boaters during the function.
The schedule for the show runs for two days, and a variety of aircraft will be taking part. The Snowbirds, which hail from Canada, will be showing off their aerial acrobatic skills, and a search and rescue demonstration is also in the works. The Golden Knights Army parachute team, as well as an F-22 Raptor will wow the crowds, and an assortment of local and nationally based civilian aircraft and organizations are on the list of participants as well.
