The Genesee Valley QuiltFest 2015 will present The Universe of Quilts in Rochester, with a June date confirmed.
Residents and visitors from neighboring cities and communities, such as Fairport, Bohemia, Queens, and Brooklyn, are expected to participate.
More than 600 quilts will be on display, along with many activities. Workshops, demos, special exhibits, and lectures will be part of the program.
A vendor mall is a significant part of the festival. Vendors showcasing gifts, accessories, food, and other items will be on hand to serve the attendees. Local Print companies can provide services such as flyer and banner printing for the vendors’ booths.
The quilt show will have all types of displays with varying sizes and styles presented by the club members, as well as other regional quilt makers. Oftentimes, quilts are on display or loan from museums and other providers.
Dating back to 1936, the Genesee Valley Quilt Club has approximately 370 members today. The mission of the organization is to encourage interest in quilting and preserve the history and heritage of the hobby. The QuiltFest still has sponsorship opportunities available too.
