Fairport flocks to chicken care workshop

Fairport households that have added a flock of chickens to their family may want to be sure they attend a learning opportunity that will help them offer their “ladies” top care.

Lollipop Farm offers workshops that address various types of animal husbandry and care, and its Backyard Chickens 202 will cover a variety of topics related to raising poultry on a small scale. Aimed at those who already have some experience, it will run for two hours and is taking place later this month.

The session will explore a variety of subjects that may be crucial to chicken care. These include the medical needs of the birds and interpreting their behavior. Understanding flock dynamics is also on the agenda, and everyone can ask any questions they might have. A registration fee of $10.00 is being charged, and the class can accommodate up to 15 students.

One of the roles undertaken by a not-for-profit group may be to educate the public, and a workshop makes it possible to do this in an enjoyable way. Learning materials – such as bound texts, handouts and visual aids, and promotional Pens – can all be prepared by a Print shop.

This chance to get the inside scoop on the coop will be offered on Sunday, July 19. It will run from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
