Fairport activity set to welcome scouts

Scouting offers kids the chance to experience the joy of learning about nature, and a hands-on session planned for a Fairport venue will offer an opportunity to do just that.

Lollipop Farm has partnered with the Scouts to host its Fish and Wildlife Management Merit Badge afternoon. A registration fee of $45 will be levied, and all attendees will have the chance to get involved in the projects on its agenda.

Participants will learn about fish and other wildlife management techniques, including why they are important. They will also find out what problems professionals in the field face and how they handle them. Each registrant will help construct, install, and monitor bird feeders, and they will also observe over 20 species of wildlife. They will find out how to use one of its scales to determine a fish’s age.

All Scouts who attend will be working both indoors and outside, so appropriate clothing is recommended. Stationery printers will be happy to provide printed learning materials for an activity like this, as well as attractive certificates to present to each participant.

Lollypop Farm at 99 Victor Road will be giving Scouts a time to work on earning their Fish and Wildlife Management Merit Badge on Saturday, November 14. The function will start at 2:30 pm and run until 4:30 pm.
