Fairport workshop simplifies online shopping

Shopping online can put the world at one’s fingertips, and a Fairport workshop is set to help show how to make the most of this global market.

Those who participate in the Shopping Online session scheduled for the Community Room at the Fairport Public Library will find out how to find the products and services they are looking for while avoiding common pitfalls. It will be led by technology instructor Daniel Jones, and is intended to be both informative and fun.

During the session, Jones will introduce the five steps to online shopping, and tips for making sure their information will be kept secure will be shared with the group. Everyone can learn about two-factor authentication and encryption, and various digital payment methods will be discussed, including an introduction to mobile shopping apps.

To make sure there are enough seats for all, registration is required. The organizers have asked anyone who requires any accommodations to let them know in advance.

Today’s libraries go well beyond just lending books, often becoming community hubs. A poster printing company can offer a range of budget-friendly marketing options that may be well suited to a not-for-profit organization or venue.

Monday, November 2 will see registrants in this Fairport workshop find out how to enjoy a safe and secure online shopping experience, running from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
