To kick off this year’s summer reading program, the Fairport Library is hosting a magic show for Fairport children. Amazing Magic Joe will offer a performance that is entertaining, funny, and educational.
Magic Joe is a children’s magician and entertainer who has been operating in the New York area for over twenty years. He has done shows all along the east coast including the Rochester Museum and Science Center, many large festivals, Wegman’s, and Walt Disney World. Based in Rochester, he offers magic events, parties, and anti-bullying shows.
Joe will perform an hour and forty-five-minute set, which will include high energy magic tricks, music and a lot of audience participation. Some of the more popular parts of his act include the toilet paper gun, disappearing balloon animals, and a giant balloon that he stuffs himself inside. After the set is over, children will have a chance to sign up for the library’s summer reading program, which will include Flyers with a list of books to read and the rewards available for participating in the program.
Amazing Magic Joe will perform on June 27 from 10:30 to 11:15 at the Fairport Public Library, located at 1 Fairport Village Landing. Attendance is free, but registration for the event is strongly encouraged. Anyone looking for more information should contact the library directly.
