The 38th annual Fairport Canal Days celebration is taking place for three days this June, hosted by the Fairport Perinton Merchants Association.
Among the activities this year will be a chicken barbeque and free concert, live entertainment on three stages, and a ticketed concert featuring Louis Prima Jr. and the Witnesses, and Chet Catallo and the Cats. Artisans and vendors will also be on hand to sell a variety of items, with the Young Emerging Artists' tent likely to be of particular interest.
There will be a rubber duck race on the canal, for which ducks cost $5 each or $20 for five. The person whose duck finishes first will receive a prize. There is also a wine, chocolate, and cheese tasting for those aged 21 and over.
Fairport residents are likely to come out in droves for this annual festival. Local Print companies may provide Banners to separate specific areas.
Fairport Canal Days will be held from June 5 to 7 at the Fairport Junction Festival Site. The barbecue will be held on June 5 from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The wine, chocolate and cheese tasting will be held on the Saturday and Sunday, with tickets costing $15 each or $25 for both days.
