Two farmers’ markets have opened up in the area, supplying fresh produce over the coming months.
The Fairport Farmers Market opened late this summer, and is scheduled to run until November 21. Local produce, plants, and speciality goods will be sold.
Vendors will be selling hanging plants, vegetable plants, and herbs to grow in the garden, along with squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, basil, cilantro, mint, parsley ,chives, and mulch. Some farms will sell organic produce.
The market is held every Saturday from 7:00 am until noon behind the Bank of America at 58 South Main Street. Parking is available at Village Landing and Packetts Landing Lots.
Social distancing is practiced, and food should be purchased and taken home to eat. The market has even sponsored an online workshop on how to shop there
The Rochester Public Market is open Tuesday and Thursdays from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm, and Saturday from 5:00 am to 3:00 pm. It serves Fairport and surrounding area. The market will sell eggs, vegetables, fruit, flowers, plants, herbs, natural meats, specialty foods, arts and crafts, and baked goods.
