Fairport’s future vets will be getting some hands-on experience with animals as part of a summer camp experience to be offered by Lollypop Farm.
The venue will be offering seats in its five-day Future Vet Camp, which will provide supervised activities offering an introduction to the basics of animal health and care. The function will be facilitated by the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, and the location is at 99 Victor Road in Fairport.
The kids who participate in the day camp, which is intended for youngsters in grades 2 and 3, will be invited to try their hand at a variety of activities. They will learn what veterinarians do and how they are trained to do it, and other animal-related careers will be explored as well. Staff members from the farm's shelter will be on hand for the occasion, and they will talk about how they provide medical services to the animals in their care.
