Fairport youth show up for soccer clinic

Parents in the village of Fairport are registering their children and youth for the Third Annual Empire United Summer Clinic.

The four-day event will help players from a wide variety of skill levels reach their peak potential.

The camp will divide every day into four parts. Groups will be divided by age and skill, then taken into daily demonstrations and training sessions where they will work through many of the fundamentals of soccer, including dribbling, passing, shooting, juggling, and heading, as well as team playing and essential plays. From there, the students will break into small groups for some small games and group competition.

In the afternoon, the groups will be organized into larger groups for training and games. They will then finish with some small sided games to help lock in the skills they have learned throughout the day. All students must bring cleats, shin guards, a water bottle, and an age appropriate soccer ball. Players will be provided with a T-shirt bearing the Logo Design of the clinic.

The event is run by the Empire United Player Development program, an innovative youth training development program which is the only member of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy in all of New York.

The Third Annual Empire United Summer Clinic will be held from August 8 to 11 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. at Center Park West, located at 11 Ayrault Rd. Cost for participation is $175 per player, and is open for ages 8 to 14. Tickets can be booked through Eventbrite.
