Children in Fairport are eagerly awaiting a certain visitor decked in red this holiday season. To help them pass the time until December 25, the Fairport Library is organizing Holiday PJ Storytime. The event features holiday-themed activities for youngsters of all ages.
The storytime is at the heart of the event, and several Christmas, winter, and holiday-themed books have been chosen this year. Attendees will show up in their coziest set of pajamas (stuffed animals are welcome to attend) and will gather in a circle to share in tales of good cheer. Afterwards, holiday songs will be sung, with small booklet printings distributed to help visitors with the words.
In addition to the music and storytime, the event will also feature some crafts. Participants will receive material to make a small, decorative holiday craft, as well as some instruction on how to make it. At the end, visitors will have a lovely souvenir to take home. Some fresh cookies will also be provided and guests will be able to decorate the cookies before either eating them, or saving them for Santa.
The Holiday PJ Storytime will be held on December 20 from 6:30 to 7:15 pm at the Fairport Public Library, located at 1 Fairport Village Landing.
