The Fairport Central School District will put several schools forward for participation in the Greater Rochester Regional Odyssey of the Mind Tournament coming up in a few days.
The tournament will include the entrants from Johanna Perrin Middle School, Minerva Deland, Martha Brown Middle School, and Brooks Elementary School.
The Odyssey of the Mind event is an international educational program presenting problem solving challenges for students. The program is open to grades Kindergarten through college. Using creating resolutions to solve the problems assigned is key to success, and there is a full range of topics in the competition, including constructing mechanical devices and interpreting literary classics.
A limited offering of food will be available, although local merchants are advised to expect increased business and prepare for it.
The city also points out that although parking arrangements have been made, the roads will be busier than usual. Attendees should plan accordingly to ensure they arrive on time for the competition.
Banner printing provided by a local Print company will provide signage to assist with directing both motor and foot traffic for the event. The vinyl Signs can be hung outside in the parking lots, as well as throughout the venue.
The event will take place this Saturday, March 7. For more information, visit the Fairport Central School District website or contact the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.Get a Free Quote for Signs Get a Free Quote for Print
