Fairport Library to present family holiday movie

The Fairport Library will host a holiday family-friendly movie screening late this December. The movie shown will be the film Elf.

The comedy holiday film Elf was released in 2003 and stars Will Ferrell as the protagonist Buddy the Elf. It was a commercial success, earning over $225m worldwide. Both critics and audience members have praised the film and it remains a holiday favorite.

The plot of Elf revolves around a human named Buddy who was raised as an elf after he accidentally snuck a ride on Santa's sleigh back to the workshop. Once he learns that he is human, he also learns that he has a living father who is on the “naughty list.” Buddy sets off to New York to find his biological father and redeem him with some Christmas spirit. What follows is plenty of wacky hijinks as Buddy tries to adapt to this strange new world and gain acceptance from his father and the love interest, Jovie, whom he meets after he arrives in New York City.

The event will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on December 28 at 1 Fairport Village Landing in the Community Room. There will be water, popcorn, and Christmas cookies. Registration is strongly suggested. Libraries can benefit from using banner printing services to make decorations for their events.
