The Fairport Public Library Cabin Fever book club will hold a meeting in late October 2022. The club will be reading the book Cackle by Rachel Harrison.
The book revolves around a young woman, Annie, who moves to a small, picturesque town. There, she meets a mysterious woman named Sophie who wants to be her friend. Annie wants to spend more time with Sophie as well, even though the townspeople seem afraid of her. However, there is a lot more to Sophie than Annie knows, and she is about to uncover it all.
Harrison is a New York author who has created three novels and several short works. Her debut novel, The Return, was nominated for the Superior Achievement in a First Novel Bram Stoker Award. The audiobook for her collection of short works, Bad Dolls, was praised in both The New York Times and Vulture. Also, her short works have appeared in Guernica, Audible, and Electric Literature's Recommended Reading.
Potential participants can download Cackle on Hoopla, Libby, or Overdrive, but they can also borrow one of the few hardback Copies available at the Fairport Library. Registration, which can be completed on the library website, is required for the event. This is an online event that will take place from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 27. venues like the Fairport Library can benefit from flyer printing to help them promote their events.
