Whether they want to run, walk, or roll their way along the route in their wheelchair or other assistive device, a function is set to bring the fun to those who call Fairport home.
The third annual BE You Run, Walk, and Wheel will be on offer in the local area, and rather than a competition, it will be all about having a great time. It will also showcase the efforts of Abilities Movement, which believes that everyone should be able to access fitness and recreational opportunities regardless of any disability.
This early June event will take place in Genesee Valley Park, and everyone is asked to bring their positive community spirit. A 5k and 1.25k option are on offer, either of which can accommodate runners, walkers, and those who use a wheelchair. A virtual attendance option is also in the works. Along with the chance to get active, the attendees will be able to learn about adapted sports and recreation, and the benefits they can provide.
To thank everyone for their support, registrants for the fundraiser will receive special Promotional Products, including a T-shirt. Those who sign up by May 1 will be guaranteed one in their size.
This activity will be taking place on June 9. Those who choose the virtual option can request to have their shirt and medal shipped out to them for a fee of $10.
