Fairport class covers houseplant care
A Fairport workshop will give new “plant parents” some knowledge and skills they can use.
The Houseplants 101 Class will teach how to keep plants healthy and thriving, and the agenda will cover a variety of topics. Each learner will go home with a potted, new green friend to care for. Tickets for the session, which must be booked in advance, are $80 each.
The instructor for the activity will discuss tips for purchasing pants, including choosing the right species for the right setting. The importance of choosing proper soil and containers will be emphasized, and everyone will be walked through the repotting process. A review of pests and diseases is on the agenda. Snacks and water will be supplied and everyone can ask questions during the activity’s one-and-a-half-hour running time.
To add an extra touch to the experience, the learners will all receive a T-shirt, and can indicate their size when purchasing tickets. A printer can craft clothing and other corporate gifts for this type of occasion; the organizers may want to incorporate a logo or other graphic design elements.
Prop Me Up, which can be found at 112 N Main Street, will be offering this introduction to Houseplant care on Thursday, May 20. It will start at 6:00 pm. Attendees are welcome to bring their own drinks if they wish.
