The Fairport area is getting ready for the Harvest Wine Tasting Fundraiser. The event will feature many different kinds of wines, and all proceeds will go to benefit a local childcare provider.
The wine tasting is sponsored by local business Irondequoit Liquor, which is providing more than 100 wines to be sampled by attendees. Some of the wines are local vintages from the Finger Lakes region, but popular national and international wineries will also be featured. No meal will be served, but there will be small hors d’oeuvres. The event will also feature music and tours of the Stepping Stones Learning Center.
The center is a local nonprofit educational and childcare facility. It was founded in 1994 by a licensed speech pathologist who wanted to create an early childcare facility dedicated to inclusive education and interaction. Having recently moved to a new location, one of the aims of the fundraiser is to give parents the ability to see the new site and learn some new information.
The Harvest Wine Tasting Fundraiser will be held at the Stepping Stones Learning Center at 2111 Hudson Ave. in Irondequoit this Friday, November 13, from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Those marking their Calendars for the event should buy tickets for advance. The cost is $25 for one person or $40 for two, and tickets can be purchased at Irondequoit Liquor or on the website.
