The upcoming 35th Annual Turkey Walk and Race offers a five-mile race that is certified and timed, as well as a one-mile walk/run for fun.
The location is about five miles from Fairport in Pittsford, and it will be a family-friendly event for the adults and children.
The five-mile race usually has about 400 runners, while the one-mile walk allows 150 participants. The races begin and end near Southeast YMCA located at 111 E. Jefferson Road.
Shower and lockers are available during the event, and free childcare is available for pre-registered participants. A Thanksgiving feast will be served up after the race is over.
The five-mile run will give T-Shirts and a commemorative medal to the first 150 applicants, as well as over 80 prizes after the race in the first-place category for different age groups. Fairport has Print shops that design Promotional Products for events like this.
The fun run one-mile event gives everyone a commemorative ribbon and the chance to purchase a T-shirt.
Free parking for this event is available at Jefferson Road School and a shuttle service is provided. Free parking is also available at the Ford Little League Baseball Lot.
The 35th Annual Turkey Walk and Race will take place on November 18. The one-mile fun run will begin at 8:10 am, and the five-mile race starts at 9:00 pm. Registration on the day of race start at 7:00 pm.
