Cruises open for summer season

The Colonial Bell Cruises in Fairport will be opening for July and August and docks in Fairport. It is one of the largest Erie canal cruise boats available.

Cruises are two to three hours long and travel 14-16 miles. They are narrated, pointing out historical landmarks and history, and the snack bar is open serving food and beverages.

Regular round trip tours are available on Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00 am – 1:30 pm, 2:30 – 5:30 pm, and 6:30 - 9:30 pm. Wednesday and Friday tours are available 1:00 – 4:00 pm, and 6:30 – 9:30 pm.

Saturday tours are available from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, 2:30 – 5:30 pm, 6:30 – 9:30 pm. Sunday tours have a family special from 12:00 – 1:30 pm and regular tour from 2:30 – 5:30 pm.

As only 70 passengers are allowed on board the ship, those interested should make sure they reserve their place.

Specialty themed cruises are available, for which reservations can be made online. A Family Pirate Cruise will be held August 15 at 2:30 – 5:30 pm, where a face painter will be on board, and there will be food and entertainment. Passengers can dress in pirate attire.

Murder Mystery Tours are on August 6 and 20 from 6:30 – 9:00 pm and includes a show and dinner. Printers design and provide poster printing for events like this.

Social distancing is practiced on all cruises. The ship is located at 400 Packett’s Landing, and parking is free.
