Busy February ahead at local museum

This February, the Eastman Museum has planned several special events, including a flower show, a Valentine’s Day brunch and film, and concerts.

The Eastman Museum is an educational institution that focuses on film and photography. It located in Rochester, about 11 miles from Fairport.

The Dutch Collection, a flower show, will be held from February 9 to 25 all day. The museum will be filled with thousands of tulips, orchids, hyacinths, daffodils, and other flowers.

On February 14, at 11:30 am, the film ‘Roman Holiday’ starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck will be screened as viewers enjoy a Valentine’s Day brunch.

Concerts coming up include an Aeolian Pipe Organ Concert to be held on February 4 at 3:00 pm. This hour-long concert cost is included with admission.

The Laura Dubin Trio will perform on February 11 at 3:00 pm. Dubin is a composer and jazz pianist.

On February 18 at 3 pm, Gloria Engle and Noemie Raymond-Friset will perform. The former plays the piano and the latter is a cellist.

The Five Points Performance Company will perform on February 25 at 3:00 pm. The students ages 9-19 will play Broadway tunes.

The Dyrden Theater in the Eastmen Museum has several movie screening in February at 7:30 pm for adults. Some of the movies are ‘Gigi’, ‘Silence of the Lambs’, ‘The Godfather’, ‘On the Waterfront’, ‘Terms of Endearment’, ‘Full Metal Jacket’, and ‘Unforgiven’.

Fairport has several printing companies that can assist businesses, museums, nonprofits, clubs, and associations with marketing services for special events and promotions.
