The 44th annual Canal Days returns to the Erie Canal on the first weekend in June.
More than 200,000 visitors from across New York and the surrounding states are expected to attend the popular and long-running festival.
Organized by the Fairport Perinton Merchants Association each year, the festival features over 200 artists promoting their work, along with live music, food, and merchant booths. Since the festival’s inception in 1976, it has been held on the Erie Canal located in the village of Fairport.
Artists from across the world are invited to attend the event, to promote and sell their work. A variety of media will be featured at the festival, including paint, photography, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, metalwork, jewellery, printmaking, and tapestry.
An application to be included as an artisan is available on the festival website. Applications are also currently open for sponsors and merchants at this year’s festival. Various sponsorship packages are available, most of them including a booth at the event. Merchants wishing to sell their products onsite, need to become a member of the Fairport Perinton Merchants Association to participate.
The 2021 Canal Days will be held on Friday, June 4 to Sunday, June 6 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on each day. The event is free to attend, with free parking and shuttle services available.
