When planning a garden, attracting pollinators into the overall design is wise, and this will be the focus of a workshop on offer this spring.
This East Northport area online class will take place just in time for the 2021 gardening season. A link will be sent out to each registrant along with a reminder email.
Hosted by Brentwood Public Library, the workshop will introduce attendees to a variety of pollinators, such as bees, butterflies, birds, beetles, and other garden helpers. They will discover why it is important to include plants that are heavy nectar producers in their home landscape, and the value of ensuring there is adequate habitat, and a water supply will also be discussed. Tips for plant selection will be shared, and when the workshop wraps up, the goal is for the participants to feel confident that they can create a pollinator-friendly yard.
