East Northport contributes to clothing drive

An East Northport winter can be a chilly time of the year, and a clothing drive organized for the local area will help to make sure everyone has warm clothing to wear.

The Knights of Columbus Fr. Seyfried Council 821 of Kings Park will once again be collecting winter clothing for those in need, and donations can be dropped off at 44 Church Street in Kings Park. The donation station will be one for three hours on both days.

The organizers are hoping there will be lots of support for the drive, and both new or gently used items , including coats, blankets, scarves, socks and mittens will be appreciated. Sizes for kids and adults are needed, and anyone who makes a contribution may be eligible for a tax receipt. The clothing will be distributed through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, which works to offer anyone in need a helping hand.

Clothes and other donations drives help to fill holes in a community's social safety net. A flyer printing company will be happy to prepare a variety of materials that can be very effective when it comes to spreading the word about an upcoming activity.

This chance to make sure no one in the East Northport area gets left in the cold will be accepting contributions on November 15th and 16th.
