The East Northport Public Library has scheduled a chance to save a life by donating blood at a pop-up collection clinic.
It will be partnering with the nonprofit New York Blood Center, and while walk-ins may be accommodated, it can be more convenient for appointments to be made in advance.
Those who choose to give the gift of life will be greeted upon their arrival by staff members, who will ask some basic questions and perform a brief health check. If all goes well, it will be time for them to roll up their sleeve and make their contribution. Afterwards, they will be invited to rest and relax with some light refreshments before they head out to enjoy the rest of their plans for the day. It will run for six hours.
Donation drives and other community functions give the public a way to get involved in service projects, and many not for-profit groups count on banner printing companies to help them run effective but budget friendly marketing campaigns. They can supply materials at various price points, including ones that may be used several times.
The East Northport Public Library will be helping to ensure that there are adequate blood stocks on hand through its donor clinic set for August 20th. The Library can be found at 185 Lakefield Road in East Northport.
