East Northport Library offers training opportunity

Growing up can be a hard row to hoe at times, and an East Northport training opportunity will teach how to support a young person going through mental health challenges.

Adults in the area who are interested in learning how to provide mental health first aid are encouraged to sign up now for these Youth Mental Health First Aid Training sessions. They will be held in the Community Room of the East Northport Library, and both will take three and half hours to complete.

The facilitator for the activity will teach how to identify various Signs of mental health challenges, including how and why they may occur. It will be focused on youth from the ages of 12 to 18 and CN Guidance and Counseling Services will supply training. There are two workshops scheduled, and those interested will need to attend both to get the full benefit. To aid in organizing the classes, registration must be made in advance.

A workshop or class can condense a lot of learning into a short amount of time. Materials, ranging from bound texts to certificates of completion, can all be prepared by Stationery printers, which can work with most budgets.

This chance to discover how to provide support to a young person experiencing a mental health issue will begin at 5:0 pm on September 22nd. It will wrap up on September 29th.
