Sanskrit class on the way to East Northport

Many of the terms used in yoga have a basis in Sanskrit, and a local subject matter expert will be running a workshop that may be helpful to both teachers and participants in the practice.

The Sanskrit Studied Method course will serve as an introduction to the language, and a review of the alphabet will be included where proper pronunciation will be encouraged. The class fee is $125.

Along with this introduction, the group will discuss the importance of breathing in yoga practice, and how it takes cues for this from Sanskrit. Both original and transliteration letters will be introduced, and there will be an exploration of why the language may be healing for the listener.

Everyone will have a chance to learn two popular chanting mantras, and luminous soul meditation is also on the agenda. The goal is for everyone to walk away with a greater understanding of Sanskrit and how to pronounce several of its words properly.

Both in-person and virtual workshops may benefit from the services of a brochure printing company. It can prepare materials to hand out, and they may also be packed up and distributed by mail.

The Introduction to Sanskrit with Manorama workshop will be on offer on Saturday, April 8. It will be held at 413 Fort Salonga Road in Northport, and will begin at 1:00 pm.
