The senior’s film, ‘A Pleasant Yardsale’, was well received by both the industry professionals and judges, as well as the audience.
Casale’s production may now make an appearance at the First Exposure Film Festival in the spring, and it has also been entered into the Long Island University Student Video Festival. Last year, his entry also won that competition. In addition, Casale’s first attempt at a full-length documentary, ‘The God Doc’, will have its theatrical premiere at Huntington’s Cinema Arts Center on May 7.
Recently accepted to the SUNY Purchase BFA Film Program, Casale has the honor of receiving admission to an extremely competitive program. Generally, the program accepts between 20 to 25 students from about 2,000 applications. The youngster has also received acceptance letters from Emerson College and Syracuse University.
Chris Barry, Casale’s teacher for Media Communications at his school, said:
“Dan’s on his way up.
“He’s probably the most talented student that I’ve ever had, and I just can’t wait to see what he’s going to do next.”
Casale could add these accolades to his brochure and business card printing orders should he make it to the big film festivals one day.
