The winter holiday season may seem far away, but a Long Island community that believes it is never too early to start preparing for this festive time of year is already working on its plans.
The Village of East Northport has lots of events still on its calendar for 2022, and one of them will be its annual Lighting of the Village Green and Caroling evening. This has traditionally been the kickoff for the holiday season, and it is open to all.
People who attend the celebration will be treated to a live performance by the Northport Chorale, and there will be fire trucks parked on site as well, all decked out in lights and other colorful decor in honor of the occasion. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to meet with the young, and the switch will be thrown for the village’s holiday tree.
