East Northport residents who are interested in taking up a new hobby this winter are invited to come to a class that will see them craft a decorative piece for their home.
Hydrangea Home, which can be found in Northport, will be hosting a class that will teach the participants how to use macramé techniques to create a triangular wall hanging they can display in their home or other setting. The organizers noted that the workshop will be well suited to beginners, and groups are welcome.
The session will run for two hours, and the participants will be taught how they can select the right materials for the piece of work they wish to create, as well as how to tie the basic knots and then use them to craft the design. The admission price includes all of the materials, including the cord that will be used and the 12-inch brass dowel that will be incorporated into the project. A local Print company can create a variety of materials that can help to promote an event like this to the community.
January 21 has been chosen as the date for this “knotty” evening, and it will be held at 146 Main Street in Northport. The registration fee for the workshop will be $45 each, and both tickets and more details can be obtained through the organizer’s Facebook listing.
