The Northport/East Northport Library serves as a community hub, offering a variety of learning opportunities, and one that will be on offer in June will be focused on being prepared for many types of emergencies.
The library’s Community Room will be the location for this hour-long educational activity, and Suffolk County’s Office of Emergency Preparedness will be sharing advice and tips. Several topics will be reviewed, and handouts will be distributed.
The workshop will address various types of weather and other unexpected situations that may impact the area, and everyone will learn how to utilize emergency notifications systems so they will know what to do or where to go if there is important information being provided by authorities. Anyone with questions has been asked to contact the library.
Along with the other handouts to be given to attendees in the session, they will all walk away with a list of online resources they can turn to for further details. A brochure printing company will be able to craft an assortment of learning materials, and full-color diagrams may be included if desired.
This opportunity for East Northport folks to make sure they know what to do in an emergency will begin at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 5. It is scheduled for the branch located at 152 Laurel Avenue in Northport.
