The school district of Northport-East Northport has been recognized for being one of the best in the whole of the US when it comes to providing musical education.
The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) selected the schools to be among a group of 476 school districts that offer their students a chance to both learn and practice their musical skills, as well as other arts, as a part of a well rounded education. They were chosen from a list of 13,515 districts form across the country. Details such as this can be included in informational publications produced by newsletter printing services. A spokesperson for the NAMM Foundation noted that for many schools that have achieved this designation report, it has led to them receiving increased levels of funding for their musical programs. This has had a positive impact on the interest of students in this area, as well as the rest of their academic life.
According to KU professor and researcher Christopher Johnson, receiving musical education helps pupils in other academic areas and results in lower dropout rates, higher ACT scores, and increased numbers of graduates, while also giving those who receive this instruction a lifelong love of music and appreciation for the arts.
