Lots of East Northport residents have medication in their cabinet that they no longer use or need, and its proper disposal is important. They will be able to do this during the “Operation Medicine Cabinet” initiative, and community residents are encouraged to take advantage of this service.
The program will see a collection station set up at the Elwood Library, located at 1929 Jericho Park. The public can bring medication in for safe disposal, keeping it out of landfills and the larger environment.
Pre-registration is not required for this service. No liquid medications, needles, or syringes will be accepted, and the public has been asked to make sure their unneeded medication is packaged in plastic Bags for the drop-off. Anyone who has questions or concerns has been asked to contact the library at elwoodprograms@elwoodlibrary.org.
