Shredding sensitive documents is often an important step in home security, and an event that will offer this service for free is scheduled for the East Northport area.
Secure Shred plans to host a Contactless Document Shredding Day in Elwood, and it will be set up in the Elwood Library parking lot. The mobile shredding unit will be parked on site, and face coverings and social distancing will be enforced.
Each household is welcome to bring up to three Boxes or Bags of materials for destruction, and the organizers explained that business or office waste will not be accepted. Everyone is asked to remain in their vehicle while their items are unloaded, and they can drive right up to the shredder. Pre-registration is not needed to take advantage of the offer, and it will be available for one day only.
