A gala planned for East Northport will help to remove the stigma that often surrounds mental illness.
To help get Mental Health Awareness month of to a flying start, area residents have been cordially invited to be a guest at a gala affair that will benefit both Suffolk County United Veterans and the Association for Mental health. Several local mental health heroes will be recognized, and black tie is optional.
When they arrive at the affair, each guest will be invited to mix and mingle during a cocktail reception. This will be followed by a sumptuous gourmet plated dinner with five courses. Live entertainment will round out the evening, and as there will be raffle draws, some of the attendees will be going home with a special prize.
Sponsoring this type of function provides a way for a local business to give back to its community. Each sponsor or other local partner can be presented with a plaque prepared by a company that crafts professional quality Corporate Gifts to thank them for their assistance in making a successful funding and awareness raiser.
The Grow With Mental Health gala has been rescheduled to October 8, and it will be welcoming ticket holders at Larkfield in East Northport. It begins at 6:00 pm and all support will be appreciated.
