Spring is usually the busiest time of year down on the farm, and one near East Northport will be hosting a special occasion in honor of the season.
A Spring Farm Festival on the way to the farm, thanks to the Smithtown Historical Society. This annual event offers the public a sneak peek into the life of a working agricultural operation, and many of its exhibits explore the community's agricultural past.
The celebration will offer lots to see and do, and everyone will have a chance to meet some furry and feathery friends in the petting zoo. The sheep will be sheared of the heavy winter wool so that they will be cool for the summer months, and pony rides, crafting stations, live music, tours food, and a pop-up vendor market have all been added to its agenda
When organizing an event that will have a historical flavor, planners often choose to use period-style decor from local poster printing companies. They will be able to use modern methods to craft materials that have a vintage look, which can help to build the desired atmosphere.
This kick-off to spring will be taking place at 239 East Main Street in Smithtown on Saturday, April 20, running from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm. Everyone is welcome, with general admission costing $9.31.
