East Northport area expo to feature hands-on fun

A special event that will feature SLIME is on the way for the East Northport area, and both families and educators alike are welcome to get in on some interactive learning and fun.

The Students of Long Island Maker Expo (SLIME) will see those who come out take part in a variety of interactive activities designed make learning enjoyable. The organizers noted that, while the goal may be to have fun, the offerings will also help kids develop their critical thinking, planning, and problem solving skills, while also heightening their respect for others and the environment.

There will be an assortment of stations set up, and their themes rage from recycling to robotics. Since it is a maker expo, many of the activities will include an opportunity for the guests to create an item they can take home with them, and they will also be able to get some hands-on experience in using technology.

Ticket prices for this event start at $5 each, and the price will go up as its date draws closer. A local printing services provider will be able to work with the organizers of this type of occasion to craft any printed materials that can aid in making it an even more memorable experience for all who attend.

The SLIME Expo will be held at 100 Nicolls Road in Stony Brook. Its website includes more information for anyone interested in obtaining further details.
