Paying for their child’s higher education can be a concern for many families, and an upcoming seminar planned for the East Northport Area will give them tips and other information they can use to demystify the process and make it much easier to navigate.
Andrew Lockwood, J.D., who has written several Books about saving and paying for college will be facilitating the workshop, and will share his take on areas such as choosing the right type of post-secondary savings accounts so that a parent will not be penalized in the formulas used for financial aid, how to lower the overall cost of tuition, how understand the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and fill it out properly, and how to draft a successful college or university application. Booklet printing can be put to use in creating materials that provide more details to the families who take part in an information session such as this.
The College Finance Workshop, which has been organized by Andy Lockwood, will be held on November 16 in the Smithtown Library, located at 1 North Country Road in Smithtown. It is free to attend, but as seating is limited, the organizers recommend that anyone who is interested register early. They can do so through its Eventbrite listing, which also contains more information about the both Lockwood and the seminar itself.
